How to *Actually* Feel Your Feelings

Watch now on Youtube

You're self-aware. You've done the reading, the journaling, the podcasts. You know there are feelings there — but when you sit down to actually feel them, nothing comes. Or you could spend an hour analyzing them and still feel stuck.

There's a particular kind of frustration that doesn't get talked about enough in healing spaces. It's not "I don't want to heal." It's "I know something is there. I just don't know how to get to it."

If that's you, I think you would really enjoy this video. And you're not broken. Nobody actually taught us how to feel.

What We Cover in This Episode

  • Why so many of us think about our emotions rather than actually feeling them

  • The body's innate wisdom — and why we stopped trusting it

  • Why feeling our feelings is so hard in modern life and what happens when we never do

  • The core distinction between thinking about emotions vs. actually feeling them (the story vs. the sensation)

  • Practice #1 — dropping into sensation: a simple guided exercise to feel what's actually there

  • The concept of emotional bandwidth — what it is and why it matters

  • Practice #2 — how to expand your capacity to feel without becoming overwhelmed

  • What to do when feelings feel completely out of reach — body cues for anger, sadness, anxiety and joy

  • Why sadness needs permission, not force

  • Why simply trying is already enough

A Note from Casey

One of the most important things I want you to take away from this episode is this: real feeling has no agenda. We've been consistently taught to feel in order to heal, arrive, fix, or become a better version of ourselves. But the moment we attach an outcome to feeling, we step out of actual feeling and back into the mind.

You are not feeling to become more healed. But in truly allowing your feelings…. healing comes. That's just the paradox of this work.
